Lenovo recently introduced the ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid during CES 2024, marking the latest addition to its ThinkBook Plus laptop series. This innovative device, powered by Windows 11, features a detachable 14-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen display with a 100 percent DCI:P3 color gamut. Notably, this display can be separated from the lower half, transforming into a tablet running on Android 13. The added benefit of extended battery life in tablet mode is complemented by the optional Lenovo Tab Pen Plus, available for purchase separately.
In terms of pricing, the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid starts at $1,999 (approximately Rs. 1.66 lakh) and is set to hit the US market in Q4 2024. Details about the laptop’s availability in other markets are expected to unfold in the upcoming months.
Under the hood, the hybrid station is fueled by an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor with 32GB LPDDR5x RAM, operating on Windows 11. Simultaneously, the tablet component runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, boasting 12GB LPDDR5x RAM and running Android 13. Storage-wise, the hybrid station offers 1TB of SSD storage, while the tablet includes 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Entertainment features include two 2W Harman Kardon speakers for the laptop and four 1W Super-linear speakers for the tablet. The device’s camera setup includes a 1080p IR camera for selfies and video chats, along with a rear module comprising a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary camera.
Connectivity options abound for the hybrid device, featuring Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack on the base. The tablet adds a USB Type-C port, along with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 support. Security measures include a fingerprint scanner for the laptop and facial recognition via the IR camera.

The base is powered by a 75WHr battery, rechargeable with a 100W adapter, while the tablet houses a 38WHr battery.
